We are currently accepting enrollment for Fall, 2025 for both preschool and Kindergarten.

Our Mission:

Our mission is to inspire a lifelong love of learning by providing a nurturing environment that fosters curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.

We are dedicated to cultivating the whole child through engaging, thematic experiences that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development. By integrating exploration of nature, community, and the arts, we empower young learners to discover their interests and grow as confident, compassionate individuals. Together, we create a supportive community where every child can thrive and explore their unique potential.

At TRFS We Value

  • Holistic Development: We support emotional, social, physical, and cognitive growth.

  • Creativity and Imagination: We encourage self-expression and innovative thinking.

  • Play-Based Education: We recognize the vital role of play in learning and development.

Our Curriculum

Our Aurora, Oregon, Farmschool curriculum is influenced by Finnish, Waldorf and Montessori education principles and provides children with a daily rhythm between indoor and outdoor activities.

At our school, we embrace a curriculum that provides a nurturing and student-centered learning experience. By integrating play-based learning, creativity, and critical thinking into our daily activities, we create an environment where children can explore their interests and develop essential life skills. Our approach prioritizes holistic development, empowering young learners to thrive socially, emotionally, and academically, ensuring they build a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

Our school is fortunate to share the space of an intentional community situated on 35 acres. Part of this acreage is dedicated to the school building, a schoolyard, and a covered play area. We also have the advantage of taking the children outside the schoolyard on walks into the property's small forest, gathering items for our nature table, visiting farm animals, harvesting nuts, making apple cider, and walking in the gardens. We go outside every day, rain or shine, and children do get dirty.

What we ask of our parents

  • Provide snack for the class in a shared rotation

  • That your children are potty trained

  • Your children arrive and depart on time

  • That you provide an appropriate outfit for the weather and a change of clothes.

“There's no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing”
